Stevie Snickerdoodle’s Adventures Series
Anyone can travel the world if they have time and money. Right?
How often do children get to choose a holiday destination, and how long do they spend at these destinations doing the things they want to do?
At the best of times, time-poor parents plan holidays, trying to include activities suitable for the whole family. And how often do these accommodate the needs of neurodivergent boys?
But what if they could escape to exciting and exotic places whenever they wish? In the Stevie Snickerdoodle's Adventures Series, they can do so by closing their eyes. True. Ask Stevie. I did, and he suggested we should ALWAYS go to Africa. Aha! Right up my alley.
So, Stevie and I set out on a wondrous journey (or two) to Africa, where my love for animals, particularly African wildlife, played a major role in creating this exciting series. Between the pages, animals 'teach' many life truths to help Stevie understand social cues and make friends in situations where his autism tried hard to overshadow his enjoyment.
Living among animals, Stevie felt free to express repetitive movements and react strongly to sensory input
